The Big Sale is an annual sale at Knitpick and Wecrochet running from Nov 3 – Nov 5th this year! (Sale ends at 11:59 PM PT!) I always stock up on all my favorites during the sale. Many of my favorite yarns start at $2!
What are my favorites?
SO glad you asked!

PALETTE: Starting at $2

This fingering weight yarn is 100% wool, superfine, spun with 2 strands and comes in over 160 colors!
It is 100% wool, and a rather rustic one at that, so I don’t recommend using it for next-to-skin wearables.
I love the rustic stray fibers, so perfect for my Rustic Crochet Nativity.

I am also using Palete for this year’s Christmas CAL!

Other Patterns using Palette:
Mini Nativity Ornament
Resurrection Scene

    DISHIE: Starting at $2

This is my favorite 100% cotton yarn. Think Lily Sugar n’Creme but slightly finer, sleeker, easier on the fingers, and less lint wafting as you work.  It’s a true worsted. I have found that cotton yarn found in big box stores is more of a bulky #5 weight and a bit hard on my fingers. For the past several years I use only Dishie for my cotton projects.

Whistle and Ivy Patterns that use Dishie:
    Cactus Coasters
    Pocket Planter
    Baja Crossbody Bag
    Boho Ornaments
    Rustic Carrots and Eggs
    Tropical Leaves

    BRAVA: Starting at $2

Approachable, easy-care acrylic. This was my go-to for my plaid designs for years, but they changed scarlet to a pink-ish red, so I had to switch.
Brava is a lovely yarn for so many projects, especially next-to-skin easy-care projects.

    PROJECT IDEAS:
    Boat Shoes Baby Booties
    Serape Stripe Hat
Puppy Love Arm Warmers (And scarf!)
    Perfect and Easy Bows
    Sea Turtle Stuffy
    VIRAL Baby Flip Flops
    Baby Trapper Hat
    Mini Stocking Advent Calendar

    SHINE WORSTED: Starting at $2

Shine worsted is another lovely cotton, however, it’s a blend with bamboo. This gives it more of a sheen, and makes it easier on the fingers than a 100% cotton yarn. The balls are a bit smaller though, containing 75 yards.

    PROJECT IDEAS:
    Donut Coasters
    Faux Macrame Rainbows
    Snowfall Knit Stich Pencil Pouch
    Rica Colorful Clutch
    Fillable Easter Eggs
    Cactus Ornaments

    COMFY WORSTED: Starting at $2

Comfy worsted is a lovely cotton/acrylic blend. I do tend to use Comfy and Shine interchangeably. They work really well together and even look a bit similar, except Shine has a more shiny sheen. Shine glides easier through the fingers. Comfy feels more like a 100% cotton but slightly softer. Due it including acrylic, it can be washed without shrinking.

    Protect Ideas:
    Baby Gladiator Barefoot Sandals
    Coin Pouch/Airpod Case Cover
    Easy Key Fob
    Crochet Succulents
    Cactus Pin Cushion

One more I wanted to mention was Fairy Tale Fur, which I use to crochet fur pom poms! It comes in a few fun colors!

I hope this helps, happy shopping and happy crocheting!
