Construction:
Line your strap in place, even with the stitch above where the body attaches to the sole. Using your ends, sew in place with a smaller hook, size G or F.
Attach the thong piece in around the stitch that is either 2 sts to the right (for left flip-flop) or 2 sts to the left (for right flip-flop.). Leave an inch of slack. The yarn tying it down will go between the toes, not the crochet strap. Tie a small and secure knot at the bottom of the sole. For further sturdiness, place a small dot of hot
I hope you enjoy these women’s strap flip-flops slippers! I have loved wearing mine around the house.

Like pattern and not hard to follow
Thank you for sharing
Glad you like it, thanks!
I don’t have any super bulky yarn, can I put several strands of the worsted weight yarn?
If so, how many?
I think you could! You will need to test it out and try a gauge swatch. Start with just two.
I want to make sole in larger size
How can I continue an extra rounds?
Am I work it in continuous rounds or not?
Yes, it’s worked in continuous rounds. Does you need them longer, or longer AND wider? If the width is good but you need some length, just just start with a longer chain. If you need them longer and wider than you can work an extra round or two. Be sure to work increases around the toe and heel. It’s a different as they are shaped for the feet, but I think a round of sc should be fine.
I will try it.
Thank you for your lovely work.
I would like to make these in regular worsted weight yarn. How do you suggest I get the correct fit?
You may want to work with 2 or three strands at once. Otherwise they will be very thin, with large spaces between the stitches.
OK I will try to thank once much! I absolutely love this design!
On the gauge it say 8 stitches 3 in. What stitch is that? Want to make sure I can get gauge with yarn I have. Thank you so much.
Double Crochet. You’re welcome!
I have made these flip flops in the baby sizes for people and now they want them in the adult form. I am worried that they will not fit individuals with wider feet. do you have any suggestions?? I love making the baby size versions and everyone who has bought from me really enjoys them too and mentions them to others they see. So I like your pattern a lot!!
Glad you like them! You can maybe work dc instead of hdc on the sides.
Ok so I might need to pull out my yarn and crochet hooks for these! Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday!
Thank you!
i want to make these in toddler and child sizes. Any suggestions? LOVE THEM!
Thank you! I can’t tell you specifically without sitting down and making them myself, I’m sorry! This toddler pattern might be a good place to start. The first 4 steps in the sole.

Awesome! Thanks for the pattern. I’m excited to try it… just need some more bulky yarn. Maybe I’ll use t-shirt yarn as someone mentioned. Hope you don’t mind if I link to this post on my blog?
You are welcome! Yep, that is totally fine, thanks for the link love :)
I just finished the Women’s flip flops , well at least one of them so far. I am Kemer on Ravelry if you’d like to see what I did. I made some T-Shirt yarn and used it for the bottoms and strap piece. I also took a $1 pair of flip flops cut off the strap and sewed it to the bottom of my flip flops . Thank you so much for the pattern and your very helpful video on the baby flip flops . It really made it so easy to do my flip flops !
That is brilliant idea for the flip-flops! I will have to do that to mine :) You are very welcome, I am glad you like the pattern!
Thank You .
I have tried to do these three times and cannot figure out the body part! The chains are really long and the back strap hangs off to one side….so frustrated!
Love the thong style just can’t get body part to work
It sounds like you might have joined in the wrong place? Did you double-check your join?
I watched your utube on the baby version, I think i understand better now. Written direction seem confusing??
Thank you
Bethany please post instructions for size 10 womens flip flops I did them in black and white but would like one size larger
You can use a larger hook and work the size 9, or you can add an extra ch on the foundation.

I added soles what do you think?? size 11 too
They look awesome!! Great job!!
Debby did you say those flip flops are a size 11? If so would you mind sending me the changes you made for that size? I’m still learning and I don’t think i can figure out how to increase the size yet, im still trying to learn how to read patterns.
And Bethany thanks so much for the patterns and videos, I appreciate the videos everyone puts out
On round 3 of size 7 pattern, do you mean 3 hdc in the stitch or am I misunderstanding? So far I am loving the pattern and have no issues. Just not sure how to proceed. Thank you!
Thanks! No you are repeating the whole sequence (inside the asterisk) 3 times.
Thank you, Bethany! After I asked the question, went back and looked at the pattern and had the “duh” moment. Finished them and gave them to the Granddaughter. She loved them! Thank you again.
No problem! So glad you got it figured out :)
These look wonderful! can you give me a stitch gauge ?
thanks
Thanks! I don’t have a swatch, but the soles work up very quickly, so check yours with the indicated size length.
I love these flip flops!! I think they’re so cool, and I love the colors you used for them!

Thank you!
These are just brilliant! Unfortunately it’s heading into winter here now but they look so comfortable.
Thank you!! Aw shoot, you’ll have to come back in a few months! Although I can see them being comfortable all year-round :)
It’s so funny that you put this out because I have made quite a few pair of the baby flip flops and people always tell me “Oh I wish those came in my size!” Now they do! So I’m going to make a few pair for my friends. I can’t make my own, however, because my foot is a size 11! (Yes, cry for me now. Cute shoes DO NOT come in my size.) Do you think you could just tell me which part of the pattern to change so I can make them in Sasquatch size? Thank you!
Oh that’s awesome! Yes! You can make the sole longer by adding extra stitches along the side, and leaving the toe and heel the same. It’s about 1 extra ch for each size up on the foundation. If you need it wider, you could work the size 9, and work one extra round on the sole, making it longer and wider. (make sure to work the increases on the toe and heel). I hope that helps!
Idk if its just me, but when I download any of your PDF patterns, the logo in the background of each page is solid (instead of being transparent like a watermark) and it obscures the written pattern on the majority of the page. Is it just me or does anyone else have the same issue?
Make sure you are opening the pattern in the most updated version of Adobe Reader, or try tapping “reader view”
I am having the same problem.
These are wonderful!! I especially like that they have a back strap! Just perfect. Thank you!!! I would like to make them for a good friend who will soon be visiting from Germany!
Thank you! And you are very welcome! How fun :)
Can’t get the instructions for women’s strap flip -flops summer
