free crochet pattern for heart stitch crochet arm warmers

I definitely meant to write the pattern for these crochet heart stitch arm warmers (Puppy Love Arm Warmers) last year. The matching hat turned out so cute that I knew I needed to make a whole set. Better late than never, right? I also made a matching infinity scarf

The pattern for these is only slightly different than the hat. While we are on the subject of the Puppy Love Slouchy, I made a few updates that improves readability and makes it a bit less confusing. I am constantly guilty of tunnel vision. I have gone back to an older pattern and a better, easier way will be glaringly obvious, which I completely missed the first time. Be sure to check it out!

Fold your foundation into a loop and join with a sl st with the first sc. (the bottom will not be connected, but you will sew that together later). Don’t adjust this number, but DO adjust your hook or yarn so the length fits comfortably around your forearm.

  1. Lovingall your patterns and I’m sincerely grateful.
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 and a Happy, healthy, peace filled and inspiring New Year!.

  2. I love these and made a pair for myself, but my daughter wants a pair now! I’m wondering how the pattern would work to just take out one heart so it’s a little more narrow? Or is the only way to just use smaller yarn and a smaller needle?

    1. Yes you can do that! Make sure the foundation is in multiples of 6, and when you make the foundation, use a hook and yarn so its snug around her forearm.

  3. I am a beginner crocheter! I can do sc and dc but don’t know how to make anything. Can you tell me where I can learn? I would love to make a very basic blanket for my new grandson coming in May! Thank you so much!

  4. These are absolutely adorable. My little daughter is a girly girl Tom boy lol and would love these! The bow is the cherry on top of a sundae of a pattern! Love this! These would be friggin adorable as leg warmers too! I can imagine someone using hem as leg warmers for an infants fancy photo shoot!
And omg a hat to match?! Yay! Thank you so much for making this pattern and making it free! Money is always tight and it’s incredibly generous of you .
    Grateful, a Mommy 😄❤️

  5. I love this pattern but dislike that they are arm warmers. They are much too long to fit under my coat. I am going to attempt making them shorter to just be fingerless gloves. Unless of course you already have a similar pattern for fingerless gloves? These are sooo cute!!

  6. Thanks so much for sharing this pattern, I’ve finally gotten back to crocheting and knitting this winter. Thanks for linking up to #HomeMattersParty

  7. Hi, thanks so much for sharing this pattern, it’s precious! But I seem to be having a problem with making them however. Once I finish the hearts and go to the next round, I end up with gaping holes around the hearts that makes my arm warmer look nothing like the pictures you shared of yours. Is there something I am doing wrong? Or did you alter the pattern after you made the prototype? Any help you could give would be most welcome. Thanks again!
