Are you gearing up for Halloween? Maybe have a fun and spooky party to plan? Joann has you covered. Check out share.joann for tons of recipe, costume and crafting ideas; it’s all about Halloween! To get you started, I am sharing these easy and spooky pumpkin candle votives today. They are a cinch to put together, and I love how they turned out.
This was my first time using artificial carvable pumpkins. I was skeptical, but I really like them! We will still be carving the real thing around here, but having carved pumpkins {that won’t turn to mush because you keep forgetting to throw them away} is kind of nice!
What you need:
1 Small Funkin
2 Bags of Black River Rocks
1 Pack of Black Halloween Tea Lights
Sharp Knife
Start by cutting your Funkin in half. It was kinda tough at first, but it gets easier as you get going. I found a serrated knife works better than a sharp chef’s knife.
Sand the edges if you need to, but mine cut pretty clean. To get two votives from one pumpkin, cut the stem off the top piece. Try to be more careful than me and use a smaller knife, I chipped mine in a couple places here!
Next, get your river rocks and tea lights. I was so happy to find these little tea lights! I was thinking I would need to find some plain white ones and paint them black, but I found these in the Halloween section at Joann and I knew they would be perfect. They also come in orange if you would prefer that instead.
Open your rocks and dump them in your pumpkin halves. Two bags filled these two votives perfectly. Place the tea lights in the middle and bury them slightly. Done!

Happy Haunting,
Love the idea :) Hope you will share it with my fall themed party Big Autumn Bash:
