This crochet plaid triangle cowl is a fabulous addition to your winter and fall wardrobe! It’s made with #5 bulky yarn, so you can make this pretty accessory in an evening or two. It fits snugly and warmly and feature a trendy buffalo plaid technique. Perfect for fall and winter!
Hello friends! I hope your holidays were fabulous. My kids had so much fun ripping paper off boxes and I love how much magic is in the air this special time of year. I also love new beginnings and setting new goals. Although I didn’t meet all of my goals last year, I did have some successes, and that is a very good feeling. I am excited to set new goals and start working toward achieving them. With that, I wanted to finish the year with one more plaid pattern. This cute and cozy Crochet Plaid Triangle Cowl is the last pattern of 2016! I have been working on it intermittently while finishing up Christmas gifts, and I am so happy to squeeze it in during the last week of the year.
It turned out lovely! I had the idea for this triangle cowl when I was brainstorming for Plaid Week, but I wasn’t sure I could pull off the triangle at the bottom and keep a consistent plaid coloring. It turned out to be much easier than I thought and I am so happy with the finished result. I love how it hangs around the neck. It’s very cozy.

Is there a video for how to work this up? At least the start of the rows? I have tried to start a few times and I just can’t make it work but would love to have one of these
Hi Mony! I do have a video, it’s part of my plaid course. You can view the course here:

I am actually running a special right now, the plaid course is FREE when you join my ENDLESS BUNDLE. You can read about that here:

Could you please do a video tutorial on the plaid triangle cowl? Please, please, please. It would be super helpful getting it started. Really want to make.
Yes I plan to! I have had several people ask, so I definitely have it on my to-do list. Thanks for your patience!
I know there is a print friendly button I use it but it has to be at the end of the written patttern to use it I think
How do you print your patterns out? I don’t see a print button
Nope, I don’t have a print option for my free patterns! You can highlight and right-click print.
There is a really cool app for your PC called Print Friendly, I’ve been using it for awhile now and it makes it easy to print things like this. Just try googling Print Friendly.
I would love to make a plaid scarf. Could I do this in short row? Would I turn and work backwards. I really want to make this scarf. Thanks for any suggestions you give me.
I have an infinity scarf pattern here: http://www.whistleandivy.com/2016/12/crochet-plaid-infinity-scarf.html
SO cute, Bethany! Thank you!!
Thank you!! You’re welcome!
Hi Bethany. I love this pattern, but I am curious as to how you carry the red and wine yarn up the sides. Do you just cover it with the edging when you complete it? Or is there a special trick you used?
You can see more details on the video, but essentially I just pull it up in the first st. It can look rather messy if it’s, but you need to finish it with a sc edge, which I do in the pattern.
