I would wager than you, a crafty individual,  have hobbies other than crochet. I have a few things I dabble in, and every once in a while I get out my beads and make some simple jewelry. I designed these crochet cactus earrings on a whim, and was ecstatic that I got the arms to work out so well (I needed a win this week!) . When I pulled out my jewelry making supplies, I found I had several beads and trinkets that I had intended on making into earrings ages ago but hadn’t got around to it.

There’s no time like the present. Thirty minutes later I have 4 new pairs of earrings!

The design for these cactus earrings took a bit of puzzling. I was hoping to avoid having to make 2 layers per earring, and I figured out a way by making the arms one piece. I also highly recommend using Stiffy to make them stiff. It changes the color of your thread very slightly so keep that in mind (makes it a bit darker) , but I am very happy with the stiffer result, as the finished design wants to twist and move while wearing.

While I was at it, I decided to make a few more designs, and I’ve bundled them all together in the same file! Along with the cactus earrings, the download also includes rainbows, leaves, and granny square!

I thought about adding a little flower to the top of my crochet cactus earrings, but couldn’t quite make it work with crochet. I wonder if beads would work better…

  1. Um, where’s the “free” pattern? Paying a monthly fee means it’s NOT free. Please provide a link to the free version that’s supposed to be available here. Thanks.

    1. Hello!
Very sorry for the inconvenience, this pattern was free a few years ago, but I retired it to my paid shop last year. I actually spent quite a bit of time scrubbing the internet of all references that it was free, but apparently I missed one? Would you mind sharing the source that brought you to my blog so I can take care of it?

        1. That is a site scraper website, and they have taken my content (all their “content” is scraped from legitimate sites like mine) without doing any research to see if it’s actually free. I am very sorry for the inconvenience!

  2. I love your work. Can you so more cactus patterns? I can’t find any thing anywhere else that’slike what you do.👍🌵
