Thanks to Lion Brand Yarn for sending yarn to me for this project!

Welcome to the Crochet Along! Today I am sharing my square, the aztec stripes square.

Aztec Stripe Afghan Square - Free crochet pattern for this cute and soft striped afghan square {Pattern by Whistle and Ivy}

Here’s how it is going to work:

  • Every day (M-F) a new square pattern will be posted on one of our ten blogs.
  • You can join in the fun by crocheting each day’s square on that day whenever you have time.
  • Share your progress and post photos of your squares in our facebook group.
  • By the end of the Crochet Along you will have twenty 12″ squares all ready to be pieced together into a beautiful afghan just in time for the holiday season.
  • Finally, we will be hosting some fabulous giveaways! You could win Lion Brand yarn to make your own afghan, $100 CASH money, OR our COMPLETED AFGHAN! That’s right, we are going to be piecing all of our squares together and shipping an afghan out to one very lucky winner.

  1. Such a beautiful square! I’d love to have a whole blanket with just this stitch pattern. Is there a multiple for this stitch pattern so one could turn it into a blanket?

    1. Thank you! There aren’t multiples per se, you will simply want to work the corner the exact same (that is where the increase is) and work extra stitches on the ends of each row. Does that make sense?

    1. The pattern is for the main photo at the top, with the spike stitches, I call it Aztec stripes. This is not the same pattern as the minion stripes or the colorblock.
