Crochet Fox Toy Plushy- CROCHET PATTERN

January 9, 2021 by Bethany Leave a Comment

This darling crochet fox plushy pattern will make fun toy for your little one. Carry him around, snuggle at bedtime or play dress-up! He will love to be your little one’s best buddy.

This sweet little crochet fox is another one of my finally-completed back burner projects. I didn’t love the yarn I initially chose, and I couldn’t quite get the chest color work right, so he lay in the bin for more than a year while I worked on other things.

I got a bug recently to work on some toys and finally pulled him out to finish him. I really wanted to finish up a penguin I have been working on, but this guy deserves to have his day.

Firstly, using Lion Brand Heartland yarn was a great choice. It has a lovely heather look and this darker brownish-orange color was the perfect color for a fox.

I also made a few changes to the coloration of the arms and legs. I really like how the transition worked out, and the technique is fairly easy.

Everyone, meet Basil the Fox!

cute crochet fox pattern with cowl scarf crochet toy

Basil is apparently the name of a well-loved fox puppet from a 60’s children’s TV show in Britain (Thank you Alexandra for the name suggestion!). I loved the earthy, woodsy name for this cute little creature, and especially that it’s a unisex name.

As with all my other animals (Vincent/Violet the bunnies and Poca the bear), I like to include a little accessory of some kind. For this sly little fox, I chose to give Basil a simple cowl.

Because woodland animals have a bit of a fall feel to them, so I think maybe this crochet fox is comfortable with just a neck warmer. 😄

RUSTIC CROCHET OWL – CROCHET PATTERN

December 13, 2020 by Bethany 2 Comments

This darling rustic crochet owl pattern makes a cute tree topper, a cute addition to your mantel. He can even perch comfortably on a winter wreath!

crochet owl rustic owl tree topper crochet pattern

I have wanted to make a crochet owl tree topper for years now. I attempted a crochet design a couple years ago when I did a short Christmas-in-July series. I couldn’t quite get the shaping right, and I didn’t choose the right yarn for the project, so I tabled it for another time.

However this year I decided to finally design a few of my wizard inspired Christmas projects (You can see my wizarding-inspired ornaments here). Of course my tree needs a crochet owl tree topper!

This attempt to design a crochet owl…success!

He looks so cute perched on my tree.
I decided to go with a cute brown owl, instead of a snowy owl. I love the look of a little brown owl, and how it could be OUR family owl! You can change out the colors and make whichever kind of owl you want for your project.

crochet golden snitch Harry Potter ornament DIY crochet pattern

This week I started a series that is near and dear to my heart, Harry Potter! Oh how I love those books. I have wanted to make a HP Christmas tree for lots of years and decided this was the year I would work up all the pattern ideas on my running list.

Did you see my flying keys?

crochet snitch crochet pattern Harry Potter crochet ideas ornament

This little guy was so fun to design, I had several ideas for the wings and landed on this design. The secret is fabric stiffener!

I actually had a hard time finding gold yarn, I wanted something with metallic, instead of a matte yellow color. I also tried with metallic embroidery thread, but the kind I found was much thinner than regular DMC thread, so it was a bit problematic to work with. If you know of a fantastic metallic yarn, let me know!

CONVERTIBLE PLAID POCKET SHAWL – CROCHET PATTERN

November 14, 2020 by Bethany 6 Comments

This convertible plaid pocket shawl crochet pattern is so cozy and can be worn three different ways! Wear as a pocket shawl to keep shoulders warm. Or wear as a thick, cozy scarf.

Welcome to the last day of Plaid Week! This pattern is coming a day late, for which I apologize! I had some unexpected mom duties that I needed to attend to yesterday. All is well! And now I can share the project I have worked the longest on and was most excited to share – a plaid pocket shawl.

convertible shawl scarf buffalo plaid crochet pattern

This plaid pocket shawl is so cozy you guys. I couldn’t even wait to weave in my ends, I just wore it around for about two days, tripping on ends.

The most ingenious part about this pocket shawl is that it has a removable back panel! This allows for more coverage if you want it. Then, when you want to go back to just a shawl, you can pull out the ribbon and set the back panel aside.

It can also be worn as a cozy scarf.

PLAID CROCHET HANGING ORGANIZER – CROCHET PATTERN

November 11, 2020 by Bethany Leave a Comment

Crochet yourself this cute crochet hanging organizer to hold your tools and small notions! Worked with the plaid color work for a farmhouse touch. You can even store in right by your back door. Keep your wallet, keys, sunglasses and everything else in a convenient grab-and-go place!
This post includes affiliate links, which means I get a small commission at no extra cost to you! Thanks for your support!

crocheting hanging organizer pocket organizer crochet pattern with plaid pockets

I am a bit obsessed with organizing. This clashes terribly with my awful cluttery nature, so my life mainly consists of lots of clutter and then lots of organizing on repeat!

It’s nice to have a quick place to stash some of your tools. I love having a craft cabinet to store all my stuff because I don’t have a dedicated craft room, but I also usually sit and crochet in my bedroom. This crocheting hanging organizer is perfect for my little crafting corner! I can store my hooks, measuring tape, small notebook.

I also thought this pocket organizer might be a good thing keep by the back door. Keys, wallet, sunglasses, hat; these things always seem to end up on the countertop or cluttered on the table, but this can be a new, permanent home for all those cluttery essentials.
