Crochet Stitch Sampler Pumpkin
Fall means pumpkin spice, and around these parts, crochet pumpkins.
I am slowly growing my library of pumpkin patterns, and this crochet stitch sampler pumpkin has been a fun addition.
Unfortunately, it looks a bit like a beach ball, which was not my intention at all.
A few people suggested that swapping out the beachy blue for yellow, deeper orange, or burgundy would completely change the look for the better, and I definitely agree!
My next pumpkin project will have more prudent color choices, for sure.

ABOUT THIS PATTERN
This crochet pumpkin pattern was actually inspired by AI…
If you have been on Pinterest recently, you may have seen all the AI slop that stains the entire digital landscape.
The fake pattern photos (and recipe photos!) are equal parts depression and enraging.
As a small protest, I decided to make an AI SLOP board to collect the AI pins created by slimy grifters farming page views and clicks with fake promises, and then attempt to make an actual, workable pattern similar to the photos.
Mine looks only slightly similar to the photo (shown below) as I decided to make mine a stitch sampler instead, so maybe it’s a failed experiment anyway.
And maybe stealing AI generated ideas is also ethically problematic…
