Simple Double Bow Crochet Pattern

I have been playing around with colors lately. I used to pair bright colors in my patterns all the time, but lately I have gotten into the boring habit of frequently using gray. Even though I will always have a special place in my heart for gray, I am trying to be more bright and colorful. This simple double bow crochet pattern is an easy and cute way to create an accessory with bright pops of color, and it’s perfect for a baby headband, or even for you!

I am not huge into big, gaudy accessories on babies, but this bright, pretty crochet bow sure is adorable on Little Miss. It’s so easy to work, you can make as many as you want, in any color combination you can imagine. Pair it with these baby flip-flops, or these two-tone mary janes for a complete set!

Once you work the pattern, you will have two pieces, shaped like this.

Lay the rectangle piece over the bow-shaped piece. Pinch the middle and wrap a length of yarn around the middle (same color as the bow-shaped piece). To secure it, tie your two ends together on the back with a secure knot. I also put a dab of glue on the back of the top piece ends, so they stayed flat and in place on top of the coral piece.

Finish by trimming your tails. I attached mine to a soft, stretchy baby headband with a clip, but you could permanently attach it with hot glue.

Hi Bethany – do you have instructions for the headband? I didn’t see them posted here (sorry if I missed them) and I’d like to make this for a friend… Thanks so much! :)

      Hi Kate!
The headband is actually purchased from the store and isn’t handmade. I’m sorry! They are very soft and stretchy, and I love that they don’t leave a mark on my baby’s head. Similar to these:

That’s even easier for me then! Thanks so much for the direct link to Amazon. :) Btw, I’m a beginner crocheter and just love your patterns. I’m trying your sandals first and as soon as the headband arrives, that pretty bow. Can’t wait! Have a great day and thanks again.
