Last Black Friday as I packed away my fall decor and excitedly began arranging out my Christmas things, I marveled at how many crochet pumpkins I have made, and thought to myself “surely, I don’t need anymore, I have so many!”
That was the opinion of Last Year Beth, and This Year Beth disagrees. When we hit the halfway point of August, I could feel the siren song of fall pulling at my heart (and hook!). Time to whip up some crochet pumpkins!
CHUNKY CROCHET PUMPKIN AND CROCHET SQUASH PATTERN
This pattern comes with another exciting announcement…
You may remember that Whistle and Ivy has acquired the pattern libraries of both The Frayed Knot, as well as Vanilla Tuesday.
We have now acquired a third library from another talented designer: Hooked on Tilly!
The Hooked on Tilly library has many beautiful things, and I am so excited to work my way through them.
To get a feel for what the Hooked on Tilly designs are like, I started with this simple, but lovely chunky crochet pumpkin and darling little crochet squash!
They are SO easy and so quick to make; perfect for an evening when you want to start and finish something in one setting.
The pattern includes an easy design for a pumpkin and squash, which can be worked up using either one or two strands of #5 yarn.
Even though I used #5 bulky, this simple pattern can be worked up with any yarn, and the shape and size are easily customized. You can make a large, squat pumpkin, or a skinny tall pumpkin, and anything in between.
