Last Black Friday as I packed away my fall decor and excitedly began arranging out my Christmas things, I marveled at how many crochet pumpkins I have made, and thought to myself “surely, I don’t need anymore, I have so many!”
That was the opinion of Last Year Beth, and This Year Beth disagrees. When we hit the halfway point of August, I could feel the siren song of fall pulling at my heart (and hook!). Time to whip up some crochet pumpkins!

The pattern includes an easy design for a pumpkin and squash, which can be worked up using either one or two strands of #5 yarn.
Even though I used #5 bulky, this simple pattern can be worked up with any yarn, and the shape and size are easily customized. You can make a large, squat pumpkin, or a skinny tall pumpkin, and anything in between.

– 6.5mm/8mm Hooks
– 4″ long stick or dowel
