Decor is actually not my forte. I love to make pieces of decor that are trendy, but when it comes to creating a whole home with a cohesive look, I feel out of my element.
We have lived in our house for almost 2 years and my porch has been completely barren. This is mostly because I am paralyzed by the lack of decor sense. When the weather finally warmed up last month (yes, finally!), I moved all my cactuses outside. I have been leaning into a desert vibe inside my home since I realized cactuses are the only plants I can keep alive, so I decided to do the same with my porch.
I had a small patch of wall between my door and front window and I decided it needed a little bit of yarn and color.
I specially chose some desert-y colors, but the beauty of this project is that you can make it work for any space by mixing up the colors to work for you!

– Paintbox Cottan Aran (4 skeins)
– G hook
– 3/4″ dowel
This is one of those lovely crochet patterns with repeats so you can get into a groove and work mindlessly. I like all kinds of patterns, but I find the mindless ones are the most therapeutic and cathartic and I generally reach for those when I have had a rough day. This one is perfect for the end of a hard day!
