My brother got married this week!!
I was a co-host for my new sister’s bachelorette/lingerie party and I decided to bake a beautiful and delicious cake with a fancy cake banner!!
Well….
Okay. I made a cake. And it had a banner.
But I must say, this banner was incredibly easy. I bit the bullet and bought a Silhouette Portrait during their Black Friday sale, and I have to say, it’s awesome!! I have already used it several times for little projects here and there, and I totally love it.
To make this banner, first get this banner set at the Silhouette store. (I used the top blue one)
I lined all the banners I needed and put a letter on the end of each one. I tried to pick a font a stencil-type font, but two of the insides popped out. Once they are cut, fold each one in half.
Then, put a dab a white school glue right in the crease and glue it to some string or yarn; I used 100% cotton yarn.
The sticks are shish kabob sticks. The ends are already sharp and perfect for the job.
I am excited to try new projects with my Silhouette! It was a screamin’ deal, so think about it for next Black Friday if you have been wanting one!
Cute banner and I’m wanting to make one for my husband’s birthday cake. Do you happen to remember what size you cut the banner shapes to make the banner fit the cake? Thanks in advance.

Thanks! They are about 1/2″ in width, and then I pulled them down a bit to make them longer.
Thanks Bethany!
