I have been playing around with polymer clay a lot lately. I think it might be because of The Boy’s recent obsession with play dough. He will play for hours! Since my two-year-old and I are basically on the same skill level, I can’t really make anything fancy. But these romantic stamped pendants turned out so cute; plus they are incredibly easy.
One fun thing about polymer clay is the color mixing. There are lots of brand with lots of colors, but if you want a specific color, you can easily create it. I made this color with a sparkly maroon, orange and white.
To make these easy pendants, start with a small ball of clay.
Then squish it into a disc.
Keep flattening until your disc is smooth and uniform. The thinner the better here, because you will need to string it with a jumpring, and it gets problematic if your disc is too thick.
From here, you can stamp your pendant. I found this adorable mini rubber stamp set at Walmart in the dollar bin, which I use to make small tags and things. They worked perfect for this project.
Press the stamp lightly, but firmly into the clay. It took me one or two tries to get the pressure right without getting the outside square of the stamp. Bake your pendants according to the package directions for the brand you chose. Once they are baked and cooled, you can add a jumpring to each pendant, and string them on a chain.
I liked the look of two colors, so I made two discs, one slightly larger for the back.
Although I monogrammed mine, feel free to add anything you want to your pendants!
So easy and so cute.
Did you air dry the clay?
No, I baked according to the package instructions.
