This pretty crochet angel is simple and rustic and is a must-have addition to your handmade crochet nativity. This post contains affiliate links which means I get a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks for your support!

Today we are working on adding an angel to our nativity. The pattern is similar to the standing figures, but has a bit wider bottom. I love the rustic white color of Oyster Heather for the angel. So pretty!

Hi Beth, thank you for the lovely patterns! I have a question for the angel’s wings row 4. I can’t seem to work out the math to get 70 stitches. For every 2 St from row 3, I get 3 stitches in row 4. So 46 stitches from row 3 give me 69 stitches in row 4 plus 1 stitch from the 47th stitch in row 3 = 70 stitches. But I will have an extra stitch from row 3? What happens to the 48th stitch in row 3? Could you please help me? Thank you.

Thank you, Bethany so much for these patterns! Everyone who see them loves them !! And I am so surprised at how much I do too!…they were for my grandchildren but I’m making a set for myself. My plan is to get them out Christmas Eve and read Luke 2 while the kids put the figures in their places!! We will build a stable from Graham crackers and shredded wheat first…

Can you clarify if you need to join at the end of each row for the wings? It doesn’t say to join but I am confused. Thanks!

I too love these but I am struggling to place the stones and have the characters sit nicely. Could you perhaps do a tutorial on that process? Thank you!

I just want to thank you for these patterns! I LOVE Christmas. I’m making this set to use with an advent calendar for my baby girl (alternating getting figures or candy each day) leading up to the last day where she will get baby Jesus. A beautiful and fun way to remember the true reason for the season the whole month of December.

Angel body row 16. (Sc 8 2 sc in next stitch) around, right? That’s the only way I can figure to end up with 30 sts.

And thank you for these. I love them!

Loving these! Working on my last piece now (though I might have to search your site to see if you’ve made those animal patterns yet 😉). Just wanted to let you know that row 16 on the body is incomplete. I assume it’s supposed to be repeated 3x so that’s what I did, but I thought you would want to know. 😊 Thanks for the awesome patterns!

Of all of the Nativity sets I’ve seen online, there is something special that calls to me in this set Maybe it’s the lack of faces so one can imagine the serene expressions themselves, I don’t know, but your design speaks to my heart. I am so excited to start this project! Thank you, thank you for so generously sharing your talents for free, so that even with my limited/set income, I can join in the fun. You are a blessing!

Thank you Diana for your kind words, I am so happy you love the set! I wanted to create something that was rustic and beautiful and I didn’t want it to be cutesy (similar to willow tree!). You are very welcome, enjoy making these!
