Okay, so upon further inspection, those rows are actually mirroring rows 6 – 9. not 15 – 17. 15-17 is the narrow middle part.

In reply to Bethany. well if she’s referring to the base of the mask, one side has you do 3 rows that are the same width (steps 15-17), but the other side seems to want you to do 4 (23-26), which i noticed and came to the comments to see if there was a reason for this. i feel like it will be lopsided if i do that so i’m going to do it with 3 rows the same on both sides.

I wanted to sew a sleeping mask but didn't have the batting to fill it so I decided to look for a crochet pattern that I could use some scrap yarn to make and use as the filling. This pattern is absolutely perfect!! So easy and quick and so cute that I actually just made one to leave as crochet and add the lenses. I love the aviator look but in the right colors, it would be so easy to make cartoon eyes haha thank you for the lovely pattern!

In reply to Emily. They are both the same pattern, just with the last row reversed, so it sounds like the size difference is your gauge. When I started out crocheting I made a lot of booties, and I learned I had to make both soles at the same time, instead of making one bootie then the other because they would end up being different sizes! My gauge would change from one crochet session to the next.

Adorable eye mask. It came out super cute, i noticed that one eye was slightly smaller than the other though.
