I haven’t designed baby booties in the while. I didn’t resalease any when I had Cubbie, and quite honestly Crash has kept me completely exhausted. But now, as I am getting a bit more sleep and Crash is taking one or two regular naps (sometimes!), I found some time to work on some baby shoe inspiration.
If I am being completely honest, these didn’t turn out exactly how I imagined. I had a set idea, but when I set to designing my imagined version, it didn’t turn out exactly how I pictured. I really love how sometimes patterns take on their own life and design themselves, because these turned out cuter than my original idea.
Our little photo shoot was so fun. I had to really take aim at those wiggly baby legs. Crash is very a content baby, so he simply chewed his toy and bounced while I tried to follow his feet with my lens (while being held by Daddy).

I am a huge fan of neutral designs that allow the crocheter to add their own flair with colors. These cute modern crochet baby booties would be perfect for both baby boy and girls. They stay put pretty well, which is saying something. That soft baby skin has zero resistance, so the ties are a must. However, they are weaved in loosely around the ankle, so they really can’t be easily tied too tight.
