Hmm. Well, I guess everyone is doing a word of the year instead of resolutions.
That works for me.
My word: Gratitude.
I am one to complain. It’s horrible, I know, but it’s one of my many personality flaws. This year, I will try to remember to be grateful for all I have in my life.
My husband is the bomb and I am so grateful for him. He treats me like a rare gem despite my mood swings and sometimes straight-up bitchiness. I definitely do not deserve him and yet he tells me that I am the lucky one. Yeah, right!
My baby is seriously awesome. He does this cute “fake” giggle. It’s hilarious and freakin’ adorable. I love his big wet kisses. He is so friendly, he makes everyone, including strangers, feel special. He also gives the BEST hugs. He is only 15 months but he squeezes really tight and will pat your back with one hand and stroke your head with the other. Whatever is going on in my day, I get one of his amazing hugs and everything is right with the world.
Reliable income. Especially in this economy, I am so grateful that my husband has a reliable job and that he works hard to provide for us. We are not wealthy by any means, but there is food on the table every night, the phone and power bills are paid, and we have a roof over our heads. With these things, I really do feel rich. There are so many people, within and without our country, who don’t have these “luxuries.”
This barely scratches the surface of all the things I can be grateful for, but this year I will try to count them and find gratitude in each day and each moment.
Thanks for reading.
