{Update: This pattern and kit have been discontinued from We Are Knitters, I am so sorry!}

Happy Thanksgiving, ya’ll! For some reason, I thought my son had school yesterday (my oldest is in Kindergarten, and it feels like I have exactly zero clues about what is happening). Luckily, an off-hand comment from a friend got us set straight and I was so happy to have the lazy morning yesterday. It’s the perfect calm before the storm to share this pretty scarf I have been working on, the gorgeous and cozy Crochet Pop Scarf, by We Are Knitters.

This lovely scarf is a new kit by We are Knitters and is part to their new Crochet Fall Collection.  The collection includes this Pop Scarf and 3 new sweaters. The Crash Sweater is gorgeous!

The Crochet Pop Scarf includes all the regular tools (darning needle, hook, finishing label and pattern booklet), and 5 skeins of deliciously squishy Petite Wool. There are hundreds of color combination possibilities.  I almost went with Gray and Navy Blue, but finally decided on Peach and Spotted Gray. It turned out perfect! The spotted gray has cream tones that worked perfectly with the warm orange-y tones of the Peach.

It turned out so lovely.

The scarf works up almost mindlessly (I love those types of projects!). Once you have the repeats down, you just work the same rows over and over until your scarf is finished. This scarf is beginner-friendly, especially if you are a beginning who already knows how to work a puff stitch. (Spoiler Alert: it’s super easy!)

Even though the original scarf pattern didn’t call for tassels on the ends, I had to put them on mine. They are the perfect finishing touch, and there was enough Peach left over to make them.

You will also have enough of your main color to work a row of sc all around the scarf. In order to make the puff stitches face the same way, you will need to cut and restart the yarn for every “pop” row on your scarf. This leaves some pesky ends.
To finished off, I weaved the ends in right across the very top, and then my row of sc hid all the extra color. Plus it gave it a nice, clean edge. It’s a little extra work, but worth the effort.

I have plans for my Pop Scarf (I know someone who will LOVE it), but I would recommend keeping this gorgeous scarf for yourself!
‘Tis the season to make yourself something pretty :)

    1. OH gosh, I am sorry! I searched through their archives and it looks like the kit has been discontinued, I am so sorry! Thanks for letting me know, I will add a note to this article.

  1. Hello I’ve started crocheting the pop scarf, and I have problem dealing with the number of the stiches. In row 3 I have 9 stiches. In row 4, I have 13 stiches( 9+2 double increases). In row 5 I have 15 stiches (13+2 single increases), in row6 I have 19 stiches ( 15+ 2 double increases) etc . So it is impossible to have 23 stiches in the 9th row as it’s written in the pattern ( I have 27). What do I do wrong? Or am I counting wrong?

  2. I have a friend who wants a two tone scarf. I was stuck. Thanks for the lovely pattern. It is exactly what I was looking for.
