With winter wrapping up,  I am looking forward to sharing some fun warm-weather crochet patterns. I have been brainstorming ideas, and I think this is the first summer that I am excited about (as far as crochet pattern designing goes, of course)! I have a growing list of fun things so I am excited, but I am trying to hold my horses. Since it’s still below freezing here in Northern Utah, I really wanted to sneak in a few more cool weather patterns before the season change. This chunky ribbed infinity scarf is my absolute favorite scarf this year. It works up insanely quickly, and it’s so cozy and warm. I don’t leave the house without it.

I used the Diadem Scarf from the Knit Picks blog, so be sure to head over there for full details of how to make this scarf. I used super chunky Hometown USA yarn for this scarf, and a P hook. But since the instructions have measurements instead of stitch counts, it was very easy to use different yarns and hooks to make the scarf. I really love the look of the chunky stitches on scarves, and I also love how quickly they work up. You could make a pile of scarves in one afternoon!

  1. Hi Bethany!

After you created your 50 inch chain did you skip the first two chains and HDC Into the 3rd back loop of the foundation chain and at the end you chained two and continued HDC BL?

  2. Love your chunky cowl! The 2 color look is nice. I know what you mean about being done with winter projects. I am ready to knit and crochet some lace things.
