love making slippers, but have not found a way to make them “less slippery”. I find my grandkids end up not wearing what I make because they fall down! I have tried a few drops of hot glue on bottom…and some Velcro, which I am told will scratch wood floors….what do you suggest?
I haven’t tried myself, but a few commenters have used spray-on silicone with success.
Try using a 3D paint, such as Puffy Paint, or some other brand and put it on the soles of the slippers. You can just do it in squiggly lines, or maybe draw some initials or a happy face or something, but you don’t need to coat the entire sole. It works great and is quite inexpensive :)
You can buy a rubber backing that u can spray on, it is used on rugs to keep them from slipping. It is sold at most craft stores like Micheals, Walmart. I think u might be able to find it at Lowe’s or Home Depot, too. Or u can take a hot glue gun and run a few lines of glue on the bottoms, that works too.
Maybe a coat or 2 of Modge Podge…it’s easily painted on to the bottom. My Mom use to use that stuff for all kinds of things.
You can find it on Amazon or any Craft Store…take a look at the definition to see if it could be of help.
Please re-post when you find a solution so we can all use it. I haven’t tried any footwear patterns yet, just ran across this pattern and problem this morning.

Hi, I’m loving the hexagon boots, but the pattern doesn’t explain how to add the second level to make them taller. .do you think maybe it’s self-explanatory once I’ve worked the rest? Lol, I’m so excited; I’m starting these tonight anyway! :)
Oh boy, I am not sure :( I bet you just sew them in place, though. It looks like it’s just an extra row, I think it might be simple when you get there.
