My husband and I have recently decided that we will make Saturday our night to be together, distraction-free. I admit, at first I was nervous. Blogging takes tons of time, guys. Like, a lot. And since I am Major Worry, I was scared I would be “wasting” precious working time.
I am so glad I was wrong.
It doesn’t matter when you are doing, you need to take a break. That is part of the reason I picked up embroidery, and why I am ready to learn how to knit
The break is refreshing and lovely. I get to reconnect with my best friend, have discussions and enjoy time together. I honestly feel like I am replenished and more productive the following Monday.

Buuuut that doesn’t mean my hooks don’t come out to play for a few minutes on the weekend. This pretty Twinkling Stars Crochet Wall Hanging was my project last weekend and I love how it turned out. It is currently hanging on the wall adjacent to Sis’s crib and it looks fab in her room.

Make as many stars as you would like. Your count my differ with the length of stick you choose. You can see I slipped in a couple Mini Stars for variety.  You may want to block your stars to be sure they lay flat. I did NOT block mine, and they seemed to stay pretty flat, but blocking would make sure they are nice and flat.

Cut a length of yarn and tie it to the top of one of the peaks on your stars. Tie a piece to each star. It helps to lay them out on your stick so you can arrange them the way you like before you tie them in place.

Tie all the strings to the stick and trim your ends. Finish by tying a piece of yarn from either end to hang it from.

  1. I absolutely love this! It is soo simple yet soooo beautiful! You are definitely talented. :) Definitely Pinning this to my Pinterest! Great Job!

  2. Thanks for the Twinkling Star Wall hanging, it looks lovely. I gave up knitting due to tendon problems, and started to teach myself to crochet, several months later still battling with tension on crochet, 3 baby bootees, all slightly different sizes, it will get better. Once you have the basic knitting stitches you will be well on your way to knitting beautiful things, It is a bit slower than crochet though. Knit, purl, cast on, cast off, make one, slip one, pass slip stitch over, knit two together, all using the basic knit and purl stitches you could be knitting a beautiful lace pattern in no time.. Good luck.

  3. I am going to try the stars, but what is a magic ring?
    Thank you
    Looks like fun.

    1. It’s a way to start a circle that pulls tight so you don’t have a hole. You can look up a video on youtube, or you can simple start with a ch3 and work in the first ch.
