  1. These are so adorable and so easy to make! What a cute idea to add a little extra cuteness to a little girl’s hair clip or dress! Thanks for sharing the pattern.

  2. Thanks for the super easy pattern- I actually made a huge one using Bernat blanket yarn. (It went on a panda bear blanket) It ended up being 11” across and 5” tall. I doubled the base chain and followed your instructions for counts

  3. I love these, and they were so simple! Any suggestions on what to attach to the back to make them clip on bowties for baby boys?

  4. This is a great little pattern! I’m using mine to attach to a zig zag tree skirt! Changed it up just a little. On row 4, I used the Shrimp Stitch as a border to match the border on the tree skirt.
(Shrimp Stitch for anyone who doesn’t know is just a backward single crochet, working from left to right! It has become one of my favorite border stitches!)

  5. Currently in the making and is to be used as hair ties on Norways nathional day. Im so happy bows are in fashion right now!

    1. Yay! That is so fun! It sounds like a great time, will you be sharing photos? I would love to see! (you can tag me on Instagram @whistleandivy)

    1. Thank you! You can start with a longer foundation, keep the middle the same, but work extra stitches on the outside of the “pinched” middle. Then you would make more rows so it’s taller.

  6. I just finished the Faux Ribbon Baby Hat for a baby shower gift using a size G hook and then wanted to add this now into the ribbon. I noticed that you State in this pattern to use size G as well but then its 4.25 mm. My G hook says 4.00 on the hook.would you clarify if it’s 4 or 4.25. I don’t have a new born to try it on and I want to make sure it will fit.

    1. I used a 4mm, but the hook is only a suggestion. To make sure it fits, use the indicated gauge and go up or down a hook size to make the hat the right size. (The gauge is a 3″ diameter after working row 4).

  7. Thank you for the great pattern! My question is, how do you wrap the yarn for the middle? Are you fastening off the yarn from the pattern and then using a new piece? How would you finish it off? Thank you!

    1. Wow! I can’t believe no one left a comment wondering how to wrap them, yikes! Yes, I use a separate piece and wrap is just a few times, I don’t like it to be bulky. I start wrapping in the middle-ish of the yarn piece and wrap both ends around opposite ways. Then when you are done, you can tie a small knot in the back. Does that make sense? Thanks for bring this to my attention, I will add the instruction to the post.

  8. Thank You for pattern can.t wait to make a bunch in many colors and put them on clips for my Great Grand Daughter!!!

  9. love your hand warmers with the bow, thank you so much for sharing with us. I looked at your other patterns too i like so many of them ty.

  10. I absolutely love the bow pattern! I have been looking high and low for a design that wouldn’t be too much! This is perfect! Thank you!

      1. Thank you for your reply I have been crocheting for 50 years and just could not think what sc stood for I blame it on old age

  11. Thanks so much for offering this pattern! I can think of so many uses for these pretties! I’ve already used the pattern in pink on a hat for my niece.

      1. Hi. I am having a hard time making these bows. On the first row are the stitches all done in 3rd ch from hook? and in rows 2-4 are the stitches all done in the beginning stitch I ch 2 from? What do I do with the remaining chains from the 15 that were ch to start? HELP!!

        1. No, the 3rd ch from the hook is just the starting point, from there you will work in each chain. The dc sts will each be in their own chain, followed by hdc, sc, sl st and so forth. When you get to the end of the chain, you will turn and work back across the stitches you made. For row 2, you will work in the same st as the chain, to two loops at the base of your chains.
