Did you know that Duck Tape® makes washi tape? I was so excited to use this washi tape from the Duck Brand®’s new line of Duck Brand Craft Tapes! And I wanted to try something different. I don’t do a lot of paper crafting ( which I am hoping to change), but that’s what is so great about washi tape,  it’s very versatile.

So I made this cute banner necklace, and it only took a few minutes.

To make this necklace, I started with some cute glass beads and strung them on a thin plastic cord (it’s a lot like fishing line).

After making a simple bead necklace, you need to wrap your washi tape around the beads. I found it was easiest to lay a strip under the necklace, then pick it up and fold it over. Don’t worry if you don’t get it lined up perfectly the first try! Washi tape is easily repositionable.

After you get all of them taped (they don’t need to have equal lengths), cut a “template” banner and line it up with each of the banners on your necklace. Cut around it so that each banner looks uniform.

I also quickly made one using a thin chain instead of a line of beads, and it turned out adorable! It looks so cute on my neice.
