Despite our move, I wanted to help plan my little sister's baby shower. Fortunately, I have a super creative and crafty older sister, who stepped up when our move became a bit hectic.
The drinks were yum, too! We did citrus-cucumber water, and an orange punch, made with grapefruit, orange and lemon juice, and ginger ale.
For the favors, I thought it would be fun to get rid of the baby food jars I have been hoarding, and make some lemon sugar hand scrub.
I found a great recipe from Stephanie Lynn. I changed it up a bit, though. Check out her recipe! I used sunflower oil, instead of olive oil. I also added an extra 3/4 cup of oil to the recipe. I decided to use lemon oil to give it a delicious strong scent, and it turned out wonderful! I used about 7 drops of theraputic-grade lemon oil for one batch, which filled about 10 baby food jars.
If you try it, sunflower oil is wonderful for your skin. After you scrub, rinse off the sugar, but don't wash with soap. Dab your hands with a paper towel, and rub the oil into your skin. Your hands will feel baby-soft!
To make the lids a bit more presentable, I painted them with sunny-yellow spray paint.
Everything turned out great, and it was so fun to be able to plan and execute this shower with the help of all of my sisters, my sister-in-law and my mom.
